Are dogs allowed inside Greendale Teahouse & Rooms?
Yes. The FAQ notes that dogs are very welcome in the tearoom and may stay in the rooms for a small fee; owners should keep dogs close and considerate of other diners.
Do I need to reserve a table?
Normally no. Greendale operates on a first‑come‑first‑served basis and does not accept regular table bookings. Groups of five or more should contact the team to arrange a reservation, and parties of eight or more are asked to pre‑order; reserved tables are held for 15 minutes.
What are the opening times?
The tearoom is open for breakfast, brunch and cakes five days a week and is generally closed in the evenings. The adjoining B&B operates seven days a week.
What kind of food and drink do they serve?
Michael and Zoe craft everything by hand using time‑honoured methods. The menu includes home‑baked breads, hearty soups, sandwiches, elegant brunch dishes, indulgent desserts and cakes. TripAdvisor lists the cuisines as café and British, with breakfast, lunch and brunch options and vegetarian, vegan and gluten‑free diets available. The teahouse is fully licensed, serving wine and beer.
When is it busiest?
Weekends tend to be busy from 09:00 for breakfast and from 12:00–14:00 for lunch. Mondays and Thursdays are also busy, whereas Fridays are usually calmer.
Do they cater for special diets and takeaways?
Yes. The team makes every dish in‑house and can provide gluten‑free bread along with vegetarian and vegan dishes. However, they warn that cross‑contamination is possible due to the small kitchen and ask guests with allergies to inform them. A limited takeaway service is available for hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and cakes.
